Two rules your coding agent cannot both follow.
Paste your AGENTS.md, CLAUDE.md, .cursorrules or system prompt. We find every pair of instructions that cannot both hold, quote both side by side, and say why. When a file asks for two things at once, the agent follows one and nobody learns which. How many pairs there are, and the most serious one, are free.
Never mention TODOS.md, internal tracking, eval infrastructure, or contributor-facing details.
Put contributor/internal changes in a separate "For contributors" section at the bottom.

On 25 September 2026 we took the ten longest AGENTS.md and CLAUDE.md files at the root of the 200 most-starred repositories on GitHub and ran each through this check, exactly as it runs on yours.
10 files read. 4 held at least one pair we read, by hand, as two rules that cannot both be followed in a case the agent meets. Of the 12 pairs the check showed, we read 6 that way, 5 as turning on a reading the file does not settle, and 1 as wrong. Three files showed nothing, which does not mean they hold nothing: the check can miss a pair.

What it readsThe file, and only the file.
It finds two instructions in your file where following one rules out the other: two commands for the same step, a thing that must always happen and must never happen, a rule and a later exception that the rule says cannot exist.
It does not read your code, your repository or your agent's runs. It cannot tell you which rule your agent chose, or whether an instruction matches what your code does. A rule that is wrong but consistent with the rest of the file is not a contradiction, and it will not be found.
Every pair is quoted word for word from your file, so you can find both lines. It can miss a pair, and it can flag a pair that a closer reading reconciles.
